Mar. 28th, 2014 11:02 amBOOM RADIO SHOW TICKETS.
That only took me 35 minutes of constantly refreshing the "tickets pending in queue" page.
Mum is coming to Chicago for Mother's Day, and she wanted to see Wait Wait Don't Tell Me the previous Thursday. Apparently everyone in Chicago is also taking their mothers to see Wait Wait Don't Tell Me that week, because I've NEVER seen tickets go that fast, even for what is almost always a sell-out show. Holy shit. I was there right at 10 when they went on sale, but I had a brief blip and lost the tickets, so I spent half an hour in queue purgatory, refreshing the page constantly on two separate browsers. I got ONE TICKET and I was like WELP WORST CASE IS SHE GOES ON HER OWN while I stand in the take-your-chances-on-a-cancellation line, but then I managed to snaffle a second ticket from someone who presumably waited too long to enter their payment information.
I feel very HA SUCKER GOT YOUR TICKET about it, but I never claimed to be a good person.
Well, maybe I did, but if I did, it was a lie.
