kaberett linked to a fundraiser for rising, whose laptop has died. He has made many Dreamwidth themes -- apparently chances are good you are or have used one, if you're on Dreamwidth -- so this is a chance to give back in a very direct way.

I am posting this with a caveat that there has been a lot of controversy about the site lately, particularly concerning the question of whether the mod is (as they claim) a person of colour, as well as the accuracy of their scholarship. You may wish to investigate further before you support the project.

Pellucid linked to Refuge Restrooms, a web app that "seeks to provide safe restroom access for transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming individuals" by providing interactive maps of safe places to use the restroom (ie, places with single-stall restrooms or which are queer friendly). arsenicjade linked to a kickstarter for "Not My Father's Son", a documentary about Nate Phelps, son of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps. The film appears to be focused less on the church and more on abuse survivorhood and mental health, and looks like it's going to be a pretty intriguing film. There are perks available at various donation levels; you can read more about the film and donate here.

taragreen89's sister Uma was accepted to the HARTT summer intensive, and won a partial merit scholarship but needs to raise $3675 to cover tuition/room/board. They have been able to extend their fundraiser with 68% raised; they are offering perks at their indiegogo fundraiser but are asking even people who can't give to share the campaign on Facebook, which could earn them a place on Indiegogo's front page.

taragreen89's sister Olympia, a photographer and visual artist, was recently awarded a two month artist residency with the Contemporary Arts Center at Woodside in Troy, NY. She has a kickstarter up here to raise $2K for residency fees and material costs, and you can check out her professional portfolio here.
