Aug. 4th, 2014 08:31 amGood morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!
Ways To Give:
Nicole linked to a fundraiser for the parents of some friends, who have found themselves in dire financial straits (job losses, foreclosure, a house fire, and medical issues). At the moment they live in temporary housing in a very rural area with unreliable transportation and are struggling to find jobs since their companies folded and cannot confirm their employment. You can read more about what they're trying to achieve and donate to support them at GoFundMe.
silvermarmot is raising money to help with their medical expenses and hopeful job transportation, since their family can no longer afford to help. You can read more about their situation and donate to help them out here. They have some really adorable little animal figurines available as perks, as well as crocheted scarves and blankets for higher level donations.
mageflower linked to
vanessasketch, whose Patreon art-support site has gone live. She has an independent action webcomic readable for free, and cool perks for those who support her! You can read more and support the art here.
amemait linked to
ginger-schnapps, who is raising funds for their kitten Merlin, who was wounded in a spat with another cat. You can read more here and find a donation button here.
One of the submissions form entries this week was for a fundraiser campaign for a Ukraine orphanage; Anon who submitted, I wanted to acknowledge that I received it, but the campaign has since been suspended, I think because there were significant concerns about it being faked. I've saved the item for next week and if it's up and running again then, I'll add it in.
And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can post items for my attention at the Radio Free Monday submissions form or via email at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!).
