Dec. 8th, 2014 08:10 amGood morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!
Ways to Give:
Mark linked to a fundraiser for Shane, a longtime member of fandom who was in a bike accident about two weeks ago. His bike was totalled and he's had to have a metal rod put into his leg; he is also apparently being held responsible for danages to the driver's car, which as a cyclist I think is outrageous (it's apparent he did nothing wrong, trafficwise). Friends are raising money for a new bike, his only mode of transportation, and you can read more and help Shane out here.
dorkilybeautiful linked to a fundraiser for Andrew, who is clearing the last hurdles towards his top surgery this January and needs a little extra support to make sure he's got everything lined up. You can read more and support Andrew here.
ninocipri's friend's mother passed away last weekend after a long fight against cancer, and Ella is raising money to pay for funeral expenses and outstanding bills. You can read more and help Ella here.
krameriagrayi linked to the Friends of the Juneau Public Library, who are running a "sponsor a brick" fundraiser for programming, outreach, and the construction of a new library branch. One group of librarians wants to fill an entire wall of sponsored bricks with Harry Potter names, and are offering tons of perks through Indiegogo to raise money for the bricks. You can read more and help both the librarians and the new library here.
Housing
Alice is looking for a new tenant for an apartment in College Station, Texas -- a 1br/1ba with a loft, washer/dryer, internet included and on a bus route, for $800/mo. She is moving out but the new renter would sign a lease with the building office, rather than subletting. You can read more and contact her at her craigslist listing for the apartment.
And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can post items for my attention at the Radio Free Monday submissions form or via email at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!).
