Dec. 15th, 2014 08:17 amGood morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!
Ways to Give:
musicianatheart linked to a fundraiser for a friend who has been having problems getting child support and finding a job herself with which to support two kids. She's looking for donations towards winter clothes for her kids and car repair; you can read more and help out at her GoFundMe here.
ngaio linked to a fundraiser for a friend who hasn't been able to live with her wife for some time due to visa/nationalisty issues, and is working towards moving to South Africa so that they can be together permanently. You can read more and help at their GoFundMe here.
dr-kara is fundraising for deposit and moving funds to get out of her sister's place and into one of her own; she and her rooommate-to-be will be looking for a place in February so they're trying to assemble the funds to move now. You can read more and help out at her gofundme here.
lavenderspark linked to a fundraiser for Off The Beaten Path books, a Steampunk themed bookstore in Michigan which is struggling to stay afloat after a rough previous year. You can read more and support the bookstore at their GoFundMe here.
highlander_ii is raising funds for insulin and special food for his dog, Logan, who is diabetic; without funding, he'll have to give up Logan to a shelter. You can read more (and see some cute photos of Logan) here, and give at his Gofundme page.
Help for Free:
editrx wants everyone to know that from now until December 25th, any tweet or facebook post using the hashtag #giveabook will count towards Penguin Random House's big donation to Save The Children -- each hashtag means one more book donated, up to 25,000 books.
chocolate-alchemy linked to a survey regarding interest in an official remake of a game called "The Logical Journey of the Zoombinis" for the iPad. I've never heard of the game, but apparently it's pretty awesome! You can read more and take the survey here.
Jobs!:
sailorsol's company in central Connecticut is hiring (mostly mechanical) engineers for design, repair, and project engineering positions in the aerospace and power generation industries. You can PM her for further information.
Just for Fun:
happi_very linked to a map of the medieval London tube (view full sized here.) Mornington Crescent, anyone?
