Good morning, everyone! Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!

Ways To Give:

[livejournal.com profile] mayfly_78 and [livejournal.com profile] digitalwave both linked this week to [livejournal.com profile] chibitoaster, who is on the verge of losing her home due to legal issues with her mother's will. There is a links roundup here for more information and ways to help, including a post where fellow fans are offering services/fics/art/etc in return for donations, or you can go directly to her gofundme here.

[livejournal.com profile] editrx's small bookstore, Star Cat Books in Vermont, is struggling to stay afloat, and [livejournal.com profile] editrx herself is facing car troubles, high heating bills, and chronic illnesses. She is trying to raise $9K to clear her bills and car issues and keep her store going. You can read more and support her fundraiser here.

[personal profile] shaenie has bipolar disorder and is currently living on disability while going through a divorce. In order to receive alimony, which she will need to continue to cover her living expenses, she needs to have legal counsel, which will cost her $1500 that she does not have. You can read more about how to help here or donate directly to her paypal at jen_catt at yahoo dot com.

Anon linked to a fundraiser for Dawn and Paige, a disabled mother and daughter who need help with living expenses while they work to get approved for disability payments. Paige makes jewelery that raises awareness for chronic illness and disability; you can read more and donate to support them here or check out Paige's Etsy here.

[personal profile] localfreak's uncle is running the Reading Half-Marathon to raise money for Survivors Of Bereavement By Suicide, which provides support to the families and loved ones of suicide victims. He's running in memory of his wife and son, who committed suicide within six months of each other. You can read more and support his run here.

[livejournal.com profile] dreamwaffles linked to a fundraiser for a friend, who is selling t-shirts to fund their graduate research. They're pretty cool shirts and support arthropod studies -- you can check out the shirts and support the project here, but move fast -- the sale ends today!

Help For Free:

[livejournal.com profile] danceswchopstck linked to a petition calling for President Obama to use an executive order to direct the Department of Justice to enforce US civil rights laws and take leadership in ending police violence and employment discrimination against the formerly incarcerated. You can read more and sign the petition here. ColorOfChange also recently successfully convinced GoFundMe to donate their profits from fundraisers for Darren wilson to the Ferguson-Florissant school district, and are continuing to monitor GoFundMe for similarly unjust fundraisers.

[personal profile] brainwane linked to a volunteer opportunity: Mozilla is looking for a volunteer (any location; the position is telecommute) who can commit a few hours a week to learn "release management" for Firefox, with guidance from a mentor. They're looking for people who can commit to six months or more, in return for hands-on experience and training. You can read more and get in touch with them here.

[dreamwidth.org profile] venturous is considering relocating to the American Southeast (Florida, Georgia, or the Carolinas) and has a poll up for those who live or have lived there to offer their advice. You can check out the poll and offer your opinions here.

Housing

[tumblr.com profile] purpleplunderbunny is looking for a roommate, preferably a fellow student, in Dover, Delaware. Rent is $375 per person plus utilities, with a private room, shared bath, off-street parking, and laundry; queer-friendly, non-smoking. You can read more about the apartment and get in touch with her here.

Just For Fun:

Merwy linked to the BBC iPlayer site for the new Good Omens radio play, which has been airing recently. Episodes are available now but may not be for much longer. You can read more and listen to the show here.

And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can post items for my attention at the Radio Free Monday submissions form or via email at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!).

Good morning, me again! :D

So, a few weeks ago I did a little fic-fest and fundraiser, writing to prompts about Bucky Barnes over on Tumblr. The resulting fics took A REALLY LONG TIME to format but are now all archived! You can find them below.

Hello, readers!

While it's often been a useful tool for me, the purpose of this particular journal has more or less come to an end, so after some consideration (and some good advice from all of you!) I've decided to "close" the journal. All the posts currently visible will remain visible, so that peoples' bookmarks will still work, but I will not be posting further fanfic updates on the LiveJournal Sam_Storyteller platform.

I will not stop posting fanfic, however, so there are several other sources you can check for fanfic updates!

-- On LiveJournal, Copperbadge at LJ is my primary platform, and fanfic is always linked to from that journal.
-- Sam_Storyteller on Dreamwidth is an up-to-date, full-text archive of my fanfic
-- You can subscribe to Copperbadge on AO3, or bookmark the fic page if you are not an AO3 member
-- While it contains a lot of other content, Copperbadge on tumblr always has links when I post new fanfic as well.

Thanks for your readership, everyone, and I hope to see you on one of my other platforms!
