Mar. 20th, 2015 11:19 amIt really is a miracle that I haven't managed to accidentally off myself in a way that would win me some kind of award. Maybe not the Darwin awards, because those are for people who made genuinely poor decisions, but surely there's an institute giving out awards for clumsiness. If not, let's get on that, I could use something for my trophy shelf.
I spent most of last week doing a lot of stretching of my left foot, because I could feel something was wrong, but I wasn't sure what. I have a standing desk at work, so in order to try and stretch out the cramp, I stood on my toes quite a bit.
This turned out to be a grave error, since it appears the issue is the sesamoid bones of my big toe joint, which should be immobilized in a slightly bent-forward position rather than stood upon constantly in a very bent-backward position. I don't know if they're cracked or just inflamed, but it has made walking a hazard this week.
Still, I can't complain overmuch. I got all of this year's seeds planted in my window garden last weekend: two kinds of poppy, onions, beans, paprika peppers, and mustard. The mustard has sprouted so violently that it actually pushed dirt up in clumps, and the blue poppies are starting to slowly emerge, so the plan this year is Don't Water The Fuck Out Of Them And Kill Them All, Genius.
I come from a very hardcore but not very well-researched school of gardening. :D
