feng_shui_house linked to a family member who is dealing with several medical issues including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. There is a new stem cell treatment available at the San Francisco Stem Cell Centre, which she needs before the deterioration in her corneas becomes irreversible, and she also needs to get to the Boston Foundation for Sight. perforatedsanity became paraplegic last year after being diagnosed with a systemic MRSA infection. She has only recently returned home after being in treatment since August. The cost for her monthly meds, respite care and many other things are already stretching the budget; basic needs like bed pads, extra bedding, and proper curtains are out of reach. Ysabet's friend Don is having to undergo cataract surgery; he is partially blind and disabled due to MS, and the surgery is a necessity for him to keep his sight. He and his wife are in rough financial shape and will owe about $800 on the surgery when it's completed. maschalismos was recently diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia, and is struggling to cover medical bills for her diagnosis and for ongoing attempts at treatment. You can read more and help out with her medical bills here.

editrx has been struggling a lot lately, and is now facing huge water bills, plus a lien on her house for a property tax bill that has gone past due. She needs to raise $6K to keep her head above water. Fannish News:

brainwane linked to WisCon, a feminist scifi convention, which is planning a vid party and seeking premieres. "We welcome all fanvids in all genres and from all traditions of fannish video production, so long as they have some connection to WisCon's focus on feminism and science fiction." You don't have to be attending WisCon to submit, and newbies are welcome. The deadline is Friday, May 8, 2015, and you can read more about their call here.

Housing:

ivoryandhorn is starting graduate study at UNC Chapel Hill this fall, and is looking for housing near campus or a short commute away.
