May. 26th, 2015 06:50 amGood morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Tuesday! Thanks for being patient with me for a day while I got my act together. :D
Ways to Give:
Anon linked to a fundraiser for the Spencers, who are trying to keep a roof over their head after one family member lost a job due to racial targeting, a declined application for food stamps, and now a move they're finding difficult to afford. They're raising funds to avoid homelessness and provide some stability for their kids; you can read more and help them out here.
waywren linked to a fundraiser for Laura, whose daughter Lilith was born very premature. Lilith is home now after months at the hospital, but her health problems and treatment expenses are high, and Laura is dealing with postpartum depression, which is also expensive. They're raising funds for Laura's first month of treatment, and you can read more and help out here.
piperki linked to a fundraiser for Ella, who needs an urgent thyroid operation but is unable to get insurance funding for the procedure. They've reached their initial goal but of course post-surgical treatment and other issues can always crop up; you can read more and add your support here.
maschalismos was recently diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia, and is struggling to cover medical bills for her diagnosis and for ongoing attempts at treatment. You can read more and help out with her medical bills here.
editrx has been struggling a lot lately, and is now facing huge water bills, plus a lien on her house for a property tax bill that has gone past due. She needs to raise $6K to keep her head above water. You can read more about her situation here and help her keep her home here; she also has jewelry for sale on Etsy and her bookshop, Star Cat Books, sells through abebooks here.
bifrostedcharms linked to a fundraiser to help Kassie cover vet bills for her hedgehog Bella, who died recently after a long veterinary treatment. You can see some cute picture of Bella and help out here.
Housing:
off_coloratura is looking for a third roommate in a Rogers Park apartment in Chicago. $750/mo plus utilities (usually between $50-$100); a private room with shared bath, in-unit laundry, and two cats, close to the red line and grocery. You can view pictures and get more information here.
