Aug. 22nd, 2016 06:49 amGood morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!
Ways to Give:
allecto works at Democracy Prep, which has two public schools in Baton Rouge, where many of their families (already high-need and low-income) have lost everything. They have an Amazon Wishlist here and are also looking for donations of spare uniforms. Anything is appreciated!
Sheryl linked to a fundraiser for a coalition of organizations (including her congregation) who are feeding and housing fifty Red Cross volunteers who are working to help in the wake of the devastating flooding in Louisiana. They need donations to defray the cost of food, which is being bought and prepared by community volunteers. You can give through the St. Paul Lutheran Church page here; they advise that if you donate via PayPal, make sure to put "Good Samaritan" in the "Special Instructions to the Seller" field.
rilee16 is still struggling to cover medical expenses after two head injuries last year, and hasn't been cleared to return to work, thus can't earn money to cover basic living costs, let alone the bills they've received. You can read more and help out here.
editrx has been struggling to keep her indy bookstore afloat for this past year, and on top of her troubles there, she's now been the subject of a violent assault by her housemate. She's dealing with mounting medical bills and trauma from the assault and needs a lawyer to ensure her attacker is charged properly and convicted. You can read more and give here, or support Starcat Books by purchasing here. She also has jewelry for sale on Etsy. (Obviously if you're shopping her etail or etsy there may be a delay in delivery.)
Help For Free:
Kimberly is completing her thesis for a Master's at UNC-Chapel Hill in the area of fandom research, and is conducting a one-month survey within the fan vidder community in regards to fan creators' identification with entertainment media in visual storytelling. You can read more and take the survey here!
shazrolane is looking for people who have experience with powered wheelchairs; she's collecting information for friends who are looking to buy one but have no experience and aren't finding online reviews super helpful. They're looking especially for information on chairs that raise the user into a standing position. You can read more, reblog, and get in touch here.

And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can post items for my attention at the Radio Free Monday submissions form or via email at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!). If you're new to fundraising, you may want to check out my guide to fundraising here.
