News Of The Home
Jan. 6th, 2017 04:34 pmSo we heard back from the seller’s agent this morning. They say they’ve had several offers and they want everyone’s “highest bid” by noon today.
This smelled to me, so I texted my advocate at the agency:
Me: Is it possible this is a tactic to get me to raise my bid without countering, and in reality there are no other offers?
Her: That would be unethical for an agent to do.
Which sounds to me like “I want to say yes that is totally what’s going on here but I’m constrained by law and professionalism not to.”
So I’m raising the bid by $5K, which is still well within my limit and not yet at my ceiling, but I’m having no more of this anonfuckery; if they try to make me bid again I’m gonna tell them to give me a number to bid against.
