Date: 2009-01-07 06:15 pm (UTC)I love the flip-flopping relationships in this, Levi!Jack and Lo!Jack being the most obvious, but also the relationships between Jack and the Doctor, Jack and Torchwood, and so on.
Also, managing director of the Library?? Why am I not surprised that Jack managed that (and managed to completely screw it up?) *laughs*
It's like Ender meets Sam Vimes meets Miles Vorkosigan. And then is fucked sideways by Jack Harkness. *loves*

Word. It feels as though it would be soothing for him. I would not kill to be managing director of The Library, however, as I might be distracted from any actual managing by... well, the endless stacks of books. I would however
slaughter untold millionsbe perfectly fine with being Cal. Oh yes.no subject
Date: 2009-01-07 08:59 pm (UTC)The great thing about being Managing Director is that he could foist all the real work off on his assistants and spend all day reading and being the Visible Face Of The Library and showing patrons around and having kinky anonymous sex in the erotica section.
Jack totally met River Song while he was there. She hit that ass like a car with no brakes.

Date: 2009-01-07 09:07 pm (UTC)Um, me too. Esp. Jenny in her camo gear, and Jack in his RAF outfit? It's like military porn meets time travel! And .43 of the fun is imagining what the Doctor would say when he found out.

Date: 2009-01-08 03:35 am (UTC)But I'm sad that Jack's resumé no longer includes the early stint at Kethsai University, because Stupid Human Tricks is my favorite Jack backstory evah. Imagine him returning to the Earth History chair and....rewriting the curriculum?
(On the other hand, QUANTICO. Do you have a secret kink for FBI Behavioral Science fic?)
The Doctor/Levy interaction is priceless. Always wanted to see Jack get the upper hand a bit, never expected this kind of IC plausibility. Reconstruction as cover story? You don't miss a trick from canon, do you?

Date: 2009-01-08 03:47 am (UTC)In re Quantico, it's also where the Marine officer training is held, and I figured Jack for a Marine type :D

This story is still made of awesome. Jack meddling in his own timeline is always fun, Ianto being Jenny's companion is just made of win!
One little thing:
One of the strategic commanders extended his fingers in a silent request. Lo nodded at her.
I know this is scifi, but this confused me. Is that commander female or male?

Date: 2009-07-13 11:15 pm (UTC)The gender confusion is probably an error. I'll have a look at it, thanks!
