Things I fail at this week: EVERYTHING.

I am terribly behind on commitments, relatively behind on email, and definitely behind on my independent projects. Hell, I'm behind on my pleasure reading. (Those of you who have sent me things to read and review/lol about/glee over, I swear I'll be in touch soon.)

I blame Rory Williams. WELL IF HE WASN'T SO INTERESTING I WOULDN'T BE SPENDING ALL THIS TIME WRITING FIC ABOUT HIM.

Speaking of fic, neifile7 has written an awesome Torchwood/White Collar crossover, Shell Game. If you're a fan of either show you'll likely enjoy it, and if you're a fan of both then it's got special bonus value for you!

I'm really enjoying writing it. I feel a bit guilty writing Rory when we have such a great, strong, fierce character in Amy, but my conscience is balmed a little by the fact that most of Rory's life revolves around her, so she's very, very present :D

On RTD's part, I believe he's said something about how names are hard for him so once he gets a feel for a name he tends to reuse it a lot. *eyeroll* There's some other show he wrote that also has a Ianto Jones in it, also played by GDL. :D

Yes, he apparently had a different name for Ianto originally -- Idris? Am I confusing him with Idris Hopper? thank god he didn't go with that -- and resurrected the name once he cast GDL. I haven't read that many -- I'm given to understand, though haven't confirmed, that there aren't a great many good ones out there. Mostly I stick with misswinterhill whose Merlin fics are AWESOME. :D

I think the majority of recommended Merlin fics are AUs, which says something about the show/fandom. I'm not entirely sure what.

I actually renamed him in the fic, because Roranicus is cool but not terribly accurate -- he's Rufus Atius Ferox, called Rory Legatus by his men. :D (Rufus means Red in Latin, as a name, like Rory does.)
