Oh that's lovely.

Just one small point, you refer to the Queen once as Her Royal Highness, whereas she is always Her Majesty:

"It wasn't Ianto who was asked to walk out with Her Royal Highness the next morning, however."

Gah, well caught. I always mess that up -- I always think it's HRH when it's HM, and vice versa.

That always irks me in movies, to, when someone addresses a king or queen as "highness". I want to shout at the screen, "It's Majesty, you twit!" I tend to forget that most people, especially Americans, don't know or care and the figurehead is just lucky they didn't get called "Your Grace" instead.

To remember "monarch = majesty, royal family = highness" I always use the memnomic where HRM stands for "His/Her Royal Majesty" and "tHe Reigning Monarch" (silly I know) while HRH is both "His/Her Royal Highness" and "His/Her Royal Hangers-on"
