Although at the time we had no lights and it was me, four teenage boys, and three speakers stacks all waiting for maintenance to kick things going again. The rest of the day got even longer, now that I remember it.
Same here. :) We have one we call the death lift - it's plummeted 8 floors before, with people inside. The other one is less fun and simply shuts down power in the middle of the day. Mostly on Mondays, funnily enough.
ELEVATOR PARTY!!! Brake out those Clif Bars, mingle with other elevatorians, dance to the elevator music, and make crank calls on the emergency phone! :D
You know you're reading too much SPN fanfic when your first response to an "Oh, Sam!" comment on Sam_Storyteller Copperbadge's LJ is "It's okay, Dean'll come around sooner or later."
I used to live in a really crap building downtown where we typically had to wait 20 minutes anytime we needed the elevator. This was a 30 story building with 800 students going to class every other hour, and had TWO elevators. We always ended up overstuffing them so they got stuck all the time with like 20 people squeezed in the car.
Oh no! I hope it is a pleasant elevator. I'm sure the smartphone helps.
I think elevator strandings often seem to happen on the most inconvenient or already crazy days. I've been stuck twice: once in high school while trying to get to an AP exam (luckily about 1/3 of the students taking the exam were crammed into the same elevator, so they delayed it for us), and later after a really long day of work on my birthday.
