Holy crap. I now have the Fanciest Bathroom Sink In Wrigleyville.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

It matches nothing else in the entire apartment. It's endearingly pretentious. But the hot water spigot totally works now, so I'm calling it a net win.

Oh, that's a nice sink. Not that pretentious....I leave that adjective for those glass-bowl sinks.

Actually it is really nice, and has way more counter space than the last one.

And may just be the angle with the door in the before pic? but looks like the undersink cabinet might be a little larger too? Looks a lot like the one I've been looking at for our half-bath.

I think so. The sink is wider, so the cabinet must be. Not that I keep much down there -- just burn spray, rubbing alcohol, and boric acid for if the roaches ever come back.

And now the entire internet has seen where Sam poops.

Never let it be said I'm not a sharing man.

Everybody poops, even Batman! :D (though I am sort of glad this picture does NOT feature Pooping!Sam.)

Sam, that sink is very nice and so is the new floor. And your bathroom is now 100% functionally yours again, YAY!

Is that a new floor too?

Yep! That's why he had to take the toilet out. It's actually the same toilet, just with a new flush mechanism.

Your bathroom now looks like my office's restrooms, which took them infinitely longer to swap out. Two weeks of climbing two flights of stairs just to pee was getting ridiculous. Dark wood and marble/ large tiles must be in this year.

Working hot water tap and new floor is good!

And agreed, new sink does rather look like some of those vanities you see on HGTV programs.

Clearly you now need to gussy up the rest of the room - but steer clear of those knitted poodle toilet-paper cozies, please. No, really. Please.

All my furniture is Ikea! Blond and/or gridded metal!

I have never even heard of a poodle toilet-paper cozy before.

Clearly I am a fortunate woman.

Oh yes, you truly are. My mother's mother used to make them for herself and friends. That was some scary shit.

Hooray for hot water! Who cares if the sink matches nothing else in the apartment? It only has to be seen beside the other bathroom stuff, and while it might not quite go with that I don't think it's offensive to the eye.

I feel that there is a pun to be made of the pretentious vanity your bathroom has developed...

It looks great!

I dunno, looks to me like it doesn't exceed about 2'x2'x3'.

It's bigger on the inside. :D

That is classy! But I think they sell sinks like that at Target, so I don't know quite how 'pretentious' it is, necessarily. ;) New floor is nice, though ... oooh, fresh grout ...

Now that you mention it they do look sort of menacing...

Oh dear. I dread to think of all the new and creative ways you could injure yourself on those corners...
