Why has no one commented on this story? It's.. holy crap, it's amazing! Unlike anything I've ever read, and you capture the entire feeling in this fic so well. I'm truly amazed.
*laughs* Not to worry, people have commented, just not here -- it was posted elsewhere first, this is just where it's archived. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Weirdly enough, I think this may be your most sensual of fics -- to me anyway. The art, the artistic arrangement of bodies and people... and sirius and remus, of course, that helps. :) But I've never seen Salazar portrayed (so to speak) this way before, and now I don't think I'd want to see him any other way.
I hope this doesn't seem too forward, but I had been searching around for some fan-stuff about the Founders and happened upon your amazing fanfiction. If you don't mind, I would like to use your fanfics as inspiration for some Founders fanart because I can't think of anything interesting on my own. But if this is a horrible blasphemy to your creations, let me know and I uhh... will never mention it again.
Hi! By all means, please feel free :) Just let me know when you've posted and whether I can pimp it on the journal! my email is copperbadge at gmail.com.
I really can't say how much I enjoyed this. I loved Stealing Harry, and Pilgrimage was wonderful, but I think this takes the cake. The imagery is wonderful--when Salazar was painting Rowena and Godric's portraits, it was like I was there. And to parallel that with Remus and Sirius and the magic of the room itself--it's beyond words. Thank you such such a truly beautiful and well written piece of fan fic. I think I may have a new favourite....
...I quite don't know what to say. You know what? It's a shame fanfictions are nothing more than actually fanfictions. They're not appreciated, not a great work of inquiry, no work of year-long writing - and yet they're more spectaculous, magnificient,... amazing than some books that're told to be bestsellers. I hate this. Just because we're writing about something that already exists, doesn't mean we don't put fantasy in our stories, we don't love them, --... Yours is one. I never imagined this fic to turn out this way, never thought or RS to be connected with Slitherin and Gryffindor and oh my bloody god- Your stile of writing! I'd throw myself of a tower if I was you. There are no more words just as thanks for sharing it with us. Please, please write more!!
Do you have a fic of RL/SB angsty and NC17? I'm searching for one for a bloody long time now but I haven't found someone that writes so amazingly well and connects this stuff properly.
Oh wow. This was simply amazing. I wish I could say something more meaningful, but I'm not sure I can---this was literally so stunning that I don't know how to desribe how much I loved it.
The bits with Salazar and Godric were particularly lovely, but the whole thing was wonderful.
Oh, not that it really matters, but I re-read this today, and it made me think (not surprisingly) of the song The Artist (http://www.lyricsondemand.com/h/hushsoundlyrics/theartistlyrics.html) by The Hush sound. ;]
I'd be happy to upload it, if you'd like to hear it.
*melts* Right. I am now a tresa!puddle on the floor of my room. Your writing is absolutely staggering. I loved the bits with Salazar and Godric, and the angsty love that is Remus/Sirius. Brilliantly done.
And so here I am, expecting a nice remus/sirius fic, thrilled because it's in the school era, which are the best stories of them, in my opinion, and I settle down to read, and am unexpectedly sucked into a magical story with the most beautiful sensual words.
With two people I could never remember existed, by the way. (Who thinks about Salazar Slytherin? Really? Except for "Oh yes, he was that crackpot who put a big snake in a chamber because he had a bit of a prejudice issue.") You give LIFE and DEFINITION to characters I never thought of. It all seems so perfectly natural now that I stop and think about it, why is that? It's like your stories go into my head and rewrite my memories of both canon and the real world.
I actually cried at the end when I thought of poor poor Godric and Salazar, and started mapping out their eventual (canon) story in my head. It's so tragic. Now why did you have to make me think about that? It's going to please me and bother me forever now, I'll never see those names without a tiny flicker of joy and sorrow. Let me tell you, I'm going to comb through the books next time I decide to read them again, and I will find every single lecture by Professor Binns and see if I can't find tidbits about the founders.
A bit of an intense review for a work of fanfiction? Well, yes. But most sincerely heartfelt. I love all of your stories. You need to make a "how-to-write" book and sell it.
I agree with you, the school-era stories are often the best :D
I'm glad you enjoyed the fic, and that Godric and Salazar felt real to you. I'm a little bit fascinated by them, I have to admit, so it's nice that other people see something in them too. :) Thank you!
