Normally I don't post Cheaper World on Tuesdays, but I got a tipoff (thank you [livejournal.com profile] arsenicjade!) that Groupon has a fundraiser going on today for TechGYRLS, a girls-only science, technology, engineering and math after-school program on Chicago's south side.

Each year TechGYRLS gives about 100 girls ages 9-14 the opportunity to strengthen their science skills through projects and activities that are hands-on, relevant, and challenging. And they're taking donations today! If 51 people donate $10 each, the Groupon will "tip" and TechGYRLS will receive the money (otherwise I think it just gets refunded to the buyers). If you have Groupon credit, you can use that as a donation, which is what I just did.

I know money's tight and this is a very local program, but if you can't give consider passing on a link to this post via your blog or twitter feed. Thanks guys!

We love girls who love robots in A Cheaper World.

I know it's not quite an Archer reference, but it puts me in mind of Pam. "Aw, shitsnacks."

Which I said the other day. Out loud. At work. Without meaning to.

Excuse me, I have to go find a dolphin handpuppet.

FYI, if you have Skymiles Shopping from Delta, you can get 6 miles per dollar spent on Groupon this week, including through the TechGyrls program.

I...can't...stop laughing. And perhaps every time I look at number two I will laugh again. *continues snickering in a corner*

The real question is: why is the woman in #1 soaking her feet in a pie plate? Is feet pie on the menu for later?

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. An insufficiently sized pie pan, too!

Clearly they are amateurs. Everyone knows you should do feet in a rectangular pan.
