The story is long, involved, and boring, but essentially I had an email from Finance saying "Please fix this fuck up that has been going on for six months" so I started contacting people about fixing the fuck up.
One of the people I contacted is the Terrible Woman In HR. I included in my email, lest she flip out on me, that "the delay was caused primarily by Finance" because see: email where they said, fix the fuck up. I just wanted to know if she had copies of the information I needed to fix the fuck up.
She forwarded it to Finance, including the part about "the delay was caused primarily by Finance" because she is a class act. Finance -- specifically, the guy who fucked up -- flipped out at me and said the delay wasn't their fault, it was my fault for doing the paperwork wrong.
Man, you emailed me to fix your fuck up. Two weeks is an acceptable delay due to wrong paperwork; six months of you not responding to queries about the wrong paperwork is all on you, asshole, and by the way, the paperwork wasn't wrong.
So I responded to point out that he not only sent to me the email that indicated that the delay was on him, the paperwork wasn't wrong, and it was his job to fix this particular fuck up, and by the way I'm copying the person he now has to work with to fix this his own damn self.
I mean, I said it prettier than that, because unlike some people I'm a GOD DAMNED PROFESSIONAL. But I still got siiiiiiiilence in reply.
Possibly I've alienated both Human Resources and the people who handle our bills. I'm almost impressed with myself. On the other hand, it was only a matter of time before the speeding train of their combined idiocy came up against the steel-reinforced wall of my competence, so really I've just achieved the inevitable.
Someday I will find a way to use my powers for good.
