Gaaaah.

It's Conference week this week, and everyone's gone bonkers. Tomorrow we have the massive company staff meeting and, due to an expanded Conference Week -- it used to be a Conference Day -- they rescheduled the company picnic for Friday, which is random, but whatever. I don't have to go to the picnic, fortunately, since I have a doctor's appointment (routine; no new broken limbs, promise). It's not that I don't like picnics, per se, except that I really don't. You have to be outside for them, and the daystar burns too brightly. This summer is unbearable. We better have a fucking awesome winter to make up for it.

But Conference Week does mean that I am already behind on email, and likely to get more so. I'm spending most of tomorrow in a dark room watching PowerPoints.

I did want to recc a fic to distract you all while I'm gone, and because it's awesome -- Raw Footage, which I helped beta. It's Foxy, writing about the Avengers dickbombing each other, so you know it's good.

Sometimes I think being a grownup is exhausting, and then I read fanfic about dickbombing and I think, I'm not even a grownup most of the time.

You speak truly about the sun, and picnics, and this stupid summer. And being a grownup! Sam tells it like it is.

You truly do tell it like it is, IAWTC (of metallumai).

And ditto on being a grownup. I tell you, if it wasn't for those pesky bills that keep coming to the apartment....

Good luck surviving Conference Week, Sam!

I feel less like a grownup now than I did when I was 22. It happens.

Also, that fic is ridiculous and very, very funny. The last lines in particular had me snorting: "Nick: I give up. Steve: So do I."

I think everyone's gone crazy this week. I don't know what's going on. Has the heat addled people's brains? I had a four-year-old yell FUCK in the middle of the kids' department yesterday. At this point I'm just trying to survive July, so I feel your pain.

Being a grownup is not nearly as glamorous as kids like to think it is.
