"Maybe this week will be easier. I got a lot done last week! Surely my boss has figured out I'm working on multiple projects and will not give me any more work to do."

Ahahahahah. Hahaha.

Better overworked than under, though!

Also, I did a fanfic. You can blame Mark Ruffalo and his hair.

Title: Black AmEx
Rating: PG (Gen)
Summary: Bruce isn't sure he wants to use a credit card Tony gave him. Steve isn't sure he even knows how.
Notes: Mageflower kept posting images of Mark Ruffalo, which made me realize that appearance-wise he oscillates between "indigent" and "fashion model" with absolutely no inbetween. I thought that was a pretty good inspiration for a fic.

Oh god you wrote a fic blamable on Mark Ruffalo and his hair. I'm not sure I should read this at work. *reads*

OMFG BRUCE. I can't believe you were hesitant about writing him. I just... love. It. And he manages to be a homeless model science bro. Ksh.

I still am, really. Haven't quite got the dry humour down yet. But there's no practice like practice....

I'm going to sound like a prat for nitpicking on such a lovely story, but the term "Beatnik" didn't originate until 1948, when Jack Kerouac popularized the term "Beat Generation".

Also, Steve should have a library card in his wallet too. They're still important now, but for a poor kid growing up in Brooklyn they would have been golden.

I figure Steve's been given a kindle, so he hasn't got round to getting a library card yet :D

I could have sworn Beatnik originated in the late 30's, but I checked the OED and the first written reference isn't even until 58. I'll have to look up a suitable replacement.

How about "hipster"?

*headslap* I was thinking the same thing about "beatnik" - definitely postwar/'50s (followed by "longhair" around 1960, which wouldn't be any use to Sam anyway) - but I utterly blanked on "hepcat".

I suspect I was probably mixing up Beatnik and Hipster! Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm glad you posted this fic on Tumblr; sometimes I get overwhelmed by LJ, losing the habit of reading fic, and I actually did read your fic on Tumblr. And am very, very glad I did.

I don't think I'll make a habit of it -- it was way too much of a pain in the ass to post three separate places -- but I'll always post links from Tumblr, anyway.

That's cool! Yeah, I understand, Tumblr is much less rewarding in terms of keeping track of feedback, anyway. And maybe I'll be less picky now about where I click, seeing how I've gotten a good smack of a reminder that it's always worthwhile to check out your fic. :)
