brilliant_snark linked to a fundraiser for a senior thesis film called "Resistance", about a gay reporter covering the discharge of a gay soldier on the eve of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell repeal. The film has been made so this is to fund promotion of the film, I believe.

Peapod this month has a game called Turkey Bowling. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but for every round you play, Peapod will donate one dollar to food pantries to "help strike out hunger".

gehayi let me know that the Indiana Jones package mystery that I posted about last week has been solved. Hilariously, it was sent to the University of Chicago because the envelope it was packed in was mysteriously torn away.

Date: 2012-12-30 06:09 am (UTC)My friend has a fundraiser up at http://homeformomma.chipin.com/helping-my-mother-find-a-home to help his mother raise money for a security deposit a few months' rent, so she can have a place to live. She's currently suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, which has impacted her ability to work recently. There's more information at the link. My friend is a great person, and while I've never met his mother, she must also be great to have raised him.
