yousucksir is a teacher's tumblr I follow, and he has a post up fundraising to help pay hospital bills for Nicolas, a former student of his who was paralyzed in a shooting last year. tabaqui linked to a fundraiser for marciaelena, who is trying to get back on her feet (including getting a working fridge, and paying off cooking gas, phone, and internet bills) after a tough year. You can read more and donate here.

quantumlore is a student in Illinois who is struggling financially after having to pay some medical bills. She is raising money to cover her bills through gofundme, and offering handmade gifts by level. girlingoldboots has had her hours drastically cut at work and is having difficulty getting aid benefits; she is in need of an immediate $300 to cover emergency costs but will need to raise more than that long term. More detail on the kittens: one kitten was missing a foot (seems to be the result of something bigger attacking her had not a birth defect) and is at the vet for amputation right now. The bill for that is easily going to meet or possibly exceed the $1000 fundraising goal they set when she hadn't been examined yet, and there are still six other kittens who, while pretty healthy, will need exams and shots and so on. Neither the cousin who found the kittens nor the (more experienced with special needs pets) one who's fostering the injured one can afford the vet bill for the amputation, but it's pretty much a life-saving measure due to the risk of infection, so they went ahead with it anyway and are now hoping that donations will cover it.
