News Commentator: Well, it's a very dark atmosphere here at the Kerry campaign headquarters in Boston; I think the final touch was losing Ohio.
Peter Jennings: Um, aaah....you've put us in an awkward position there -- we haven't projected Ohio yet.
News Commentator: No, but everyone else has.

You have to laugh.

It's not quite true, of course, but nothing's going to be decided tonight one way or another anyway, it seems. Funny how the more technologically advanced we become, the longer it takes to tot up the votes. Maybe next time we ought to go back to coloured marbles and big terracotta vases.
I went to bed at three and got up at eight and nothing has changed. They haven't even called the states they hadn't called when I went to bed.

It's gonna be a long two months.
Kerry will be making his concession speech today at one pm, at Fanieul Hall. At least the thing won't drag like it did in 2000.

Well, congratulations California anyhow, for stem cell research, and well done America getting out eighty and ninety percent turnout in a lot of places. The process is important!

It's just hard to remember that when eleven states have banned gay marriage and Florida has passed a bill limiting the privacy of female minors.
And I am for bed.
