Jul. 10th, 2006 12:20 pmSo if you were given the following recipe without instructions, and had a reasonable amount of experience in baking, what would you do?
Banana Bread
(bake at 350 for 50 mins)
1/2 c. butter (or oleo, but ew!)
1 c sugar
2 eggs
3 mashed bananas
2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup nuts
I mean, I know I don't always use the freshest of ingredients, but I'm marginally conscious that when you're baking something the ingredients generally go in the order listed. You'd presumably cream the butter and sugar, add the eggs, add the bananas, then mix the dry ingredients and add those before putting in the nuts last of all, right?
Cause Bernard decided, just for fun, to do it backwards. He mixed the flour and sugar, then added eggs, then added the butter, then mixed the bananas with the nuts and added them, then sort of stirred in the baking soda and baking powder as an afterthought.
If it doesn't actually catch on fire in the oven, I'm going to be forced to eat this, yo.
In other news, omg new Ouran YAY. I cracked up at the opening, cause Renge draws a doujinshi manga. Of characters in an anime. Which is based on a manga. Oh, the delicious meta.
Also, now I'm intrigued. Everything we've seen up till now has basically implied that Kyouya is first and foremost a businessman, and we know he can be ruthless, but then at the end he's all "you're a businessman, and we have different aims"...
