A moment to myself! Hooray!

So. Mum has been bedoctored and biopsied and prescribed things and will have bloodwork done tomorrow, and she's probably going to be okay, but I'm making her eat a lot of red meat and cashews in the meantime. What, cashews are high in iron. But she's doing all right, and thank you everyone who wished her well.

Then we had to do a bunch of cooking for Bernard and move his stuff around, and tomorrow there will be more of that, so I won't be around much. Although on Sunday I will, because as per usual I get to stay home in the blissful serenity and look after the dog while everyone else helps Bernard move.

I found a video tape with The Brave Little Toaster on it. I think Sunday will be devoted to seeing if it's still the most fucking terrifying childrens' film ever.
Mum is ill and so I'm taking her to the doctor this afternoon. We don't think it's anything serious -- certainly she's not dying or anything, she's just having *ahem* woman problems of a worrying nature.

I know this is Sam's Excruciatingly Public Journal and all, but I'm still not sure I'm quite comfortable discussing the details of my mother's reproductive health on one of the more widely-read personal journals on LJ. Just sayin'. :D

Bernard is also leaving for University tomorrow, so even if the doc's office doesn't take long, this afternoon will be (as this morning was) taken up with doing all the college-prep things mum thought she would be able to do tomorrow and probably won't, because she will be lying down on a couch watching Maid in Manhattan instead. As is right and proper, don't get me wrong.

UPSHOT: I will not be around this afternoon. I will instead be making chili-buns for Bernard to snack on and helping him stack his Giant Tupperware Tubs at the front door.
