Oct. 11th, 2006 10:37 amToday is the day of WTF REALLY.
Firstly: It was a little rainy, but also 70F here yesterday. Tonight, it's supposed to snow. I'm all over the concept of snowing, I get that it gets cold in Chicago, but was kind of labouring under the delusion that we would have autumn between summer and winter. That's the bit where the leaves fall off the trees and everyone goes "brr, it'll snow soon!"
Secondly: I registered to do online, from-home papers-grading for an educational testing service about two months ago. I didn't pass one of their entry exams but they said that since I did well on the other two, I might still have work with them. Then they never called me ever again. This morning, I got an email saying HI, SCORING HAS STARTED, HERE'S THE WEBSITE, LET'S SCORE!
Um, not until you tell me my schedule and payroll info, kthx.
On the plus side, it does mean I potentially have a job for the next month. And it's a stay at home job, so between that, PeaPod grocery delivery, and the fact that a local diner delivers burgers, I might never leave the flat again. All I need now is a pocketwatch and I'm Boo Radley.
Not really. Actually I have evenings out scheduled for Thursday and Friday, and on Sunday I'm going down to the loop to shop for snowboots and black trousers and get a library card. Right now, however, I'm off to apply for volunteer positions and make some potstickers.
