Jun. 21st, 2007 10:50 pmI'm home!
Everyone at the theatre has heard about yesterday's events -- one of the actors was in the lobby when it occurred and he texted everyone he knew, so the entire cast and crew, it seems like, came to the box office to say hi and get the story. Supermanager even stopped by before the house opened to ask if I was ready for another night of obscenity and violence. I may get annoyed with Coworker K and Tibs and Big Boss, but I will say that it's good to work with people who have a sense of humour. Alas, the story has a mundane ending: Nice Boss called the patron today and ended up refunding his money, but the patron did not renew his season tickets so it looks like that's the last we'll see of him. Good riddance in my opinion.
A few days ago I went to work and left my window open accidentally, which gave me a scare when I came home because I'm on the ground floor and my windows are only about six feet off the ground. I have renter's insurance so I'd be paid if I was robbed, up to and including my laptop, but the thought of losing all my photos and my writing scared the bejesus out of me. So, the next day, I dusted off the little gmail woozit that allows you to use a gmail account as storage, and I backed up all my important writing, including essays and resumes, as well as all my photos.
An advantage to this, which I didn't immediately realize, was that I now have access to all of it from any internet-capable computer. So today, when I saw that the theatre was advertising two new jobs, I was able to get into storage, download my CV and standard cover letter, and turn in applications. Modern technology is awesome.
I've been a little restless all day, unable to work -- there will not be LC this week, curse it all -- and I hope my brain settles down soon. It may be lack of sleep or something. Either way, it can stop anytime it pleases.
