Well, finally something went smoothly.

I went to Chicago Apartment Finders this morning but as they pointed out, their busiest day is Saturday and anything I look at today will be gone if I wait. I do want to wait at least a few days until I can meet up with the potential roommate, so I rescheduled for next Tuesday, which left today open for the clothes shopping I've been needing to do for two weeks. I needed a new shirt and trousers for an ushering gig, plus black shoes; I ended up getting two new pairs of trousers, three shirts, a jacket, and the shoes for half of what it would normally cost because of some sale or other. Apparently autumn is coming. WHO KNEW.

Mum footed the bill; everyone say together, BLESS YOU SAM'S MUM.

Anyway, That got done, and I'll have time tomorrow to get groceries. Now all I need to do is actually get hold of M's Neighbor (codename: Mr. R) and settle housing and maybe I'll be able to unwind enough that my joints don't hurt at the end of the day from CLENCHING.

I came home and cleaned for about...fifteen minutes before the preponderance of bugs overwhelmed. I stole two boxes from work (that was a fun El ride home) and will be packing up the remainder of my second bookshelf in them tomorrow. A lot of my furniture was picked from the alley, and to the alley shall it go again -- most of it's falling apart and in terrible shape to start with, and moving it would be more of a hassle than it's worth. My dresser, wooden bookshelf, futon, and desk-and-chairs are the only furniture I'm taking with me.

I've moved at least once a year, every year, for the past seven years. I like to travel and all, but somewhere I really do need to draw the line.

Cara and Jean, I owe you both emails. I haven't forgotten!
