My boss is not all that much older than I am, and probably looks younger. At least, he does now.

Sam: Hey! You got a haircut! And...stopped shaving.
BossBoss: Yeah. Because otherwise it looks like an eight-year-old is in charge around here.
Sam: Twelve, at least. And you're doing a good job of it!
BossBoss: I've come a long way since kindergarten.
Sam: So the scruff look, that's until your hair grows out? How's BossWife feel about that?
BossBoss: She'd rather have the scruff look than suddenly be married to a fourth-grader.
Sam: Want me to pick you up a juicebox when I get lunch?

Then he pointedly eyeballed the bottle of OJ on my desk and went off to do bosslike things.

Because I don't drink caffeinated beverages, aside from the occasional diet cola, my body is apparently ready to accept almost anything as a stimulant; I've been using this lowered tolerance to wake myself up with Pepsi in the mornings, but OJ works just as well and has more vitamins or something. So now in the mornings I have a bottle of OJ and a bottle of water and a hard-boiled egg for breakfast. And sometimes a Snickers bar, because Snickers bars are, I firmly believe, an integral part of the path to enlightenment. And if they aren't, I don't want any part of it.
AHAHAHAHAHA OMG

Apparently his haircut is affecting his maturity. BossBoss just saw two clients to the elevator lobby, came back inside, gathered up his paperwork, and said to me, "Long meeting was long."

THEY'RE IN MAH OFFICE

DISTRACTIN MAH EMPLOYR
When a Chicago river bridge goes up, everyone in the immediate area stops -- not just the cars or the people walking across who have to stop, but everyone along the riverfront as well. The asphalt lifts and groans and blocks out the far side of the river, allowing whatever sailing ship or high-profile yacht is nearby to pass underneath. People stop and gape and take photographs.

This time around it was a practical regatta of high-masted sailboats, probably out on the river for the first time since the snow melted. Some people do live on the riverbanks and keep private slips between the bridges.

I love this town.
