Sep. 22nd, 2008 10:45 amOKAY. I am at work and squared away enough that I have time to update.
It was not the Roomba done me in. This morning I tripped going through the El gate, before I'd managed to scan my farecard, and caught myself left-handed on the turnstile. Yeah, I know.
It hurt like motherfuck but hell, all my doctors are downtown anyway so I figured I might as well get on a train and see how I was feeling when I got to my stop. I was feeling pretty bad, actually, and despite icing the wrist with a handy can of soda it was swelling a bit, so I went down to Michigan Avenue Immediate Care, which is possibly the best walk-in clinic in the city of Chicago.
The upshot, a handful of x-rays later, is that I have a sprained wrist probably connected to the fact that I was in a cast for a significant period of time about six months ago. Ice and rest; it's braced in an Ace bandage currently but they said considering I HAVE a wrist brace at home that's custom-fitted to me, I could wear that instead. I'm supposed to wear it the rest of the week and see my wrist doctor next Monday if there's still pain.
WELCOME TO MONDAY, GUYS.
