GIP!

For those new to this, it stands for Gratuitous Icon Post.

Someone said yesterday that my remark about salt being a magic rock should be icon'd. I obliged. Free for use, knock yourselves out. :)

In related news, sweet goddamn there is a lot of rhubarb on the internet right now. I check four foodie blogs regularly and three of them have Rhubarb recipe posts in the last few days (the fourth is a Bento site, so not all that likely to invoke rhubarb in the first place).

Stephen Fry: What happens in the Rhubarb Triangle?
Johnny Vegas: Do marzipan fighter planes go missing? Do they...do they not pick anything up on the liquorice radar, and then they suddenly start talking nonsense, and Gingerbread Men -- good men, who fought in the Pudding Wars -- just, just vanished! And the wives are stood there, holding their eyes, going, "This is all they found!"
Stephen Fry: I want to live in your world, Johnny Vegas.

Y SO ROOBARBIE, INTERNET?

And finally: Barack Obama Eats Local & Sustainable. Good man. I'm going to try Five Guys Burgers on my next Go Car adventure, they have one near my Costco...
Looks like an invading alien, but it's actually the chandelier in the rotunda of the Grand Lux, where I'm having a fancy dinner. Salut!

I am home! I left a few minutes early from work and ran up to my chiropractor's for a session, then had dinner and caught a cab home. A "snaxi", in fact, according to the Snickers ad on the roof. Oh Snickers, I love you in unhealthy ways.

Halfway through the massage therapy session before dinner, the therapist made something go "click". And immediately said, "Oh. That shouldn't do that." So along with the half-hour session I have for my lower back and right leg, I got a free fifteen minute just-short-of-screamingly-painful session for something that goes "click" in my right shoulder. It does feel better now.

Dinner was delicious though not anything especially extraordinary -- Grand Lux is a division of Cheesecake Factory, it's not like a fancy independent restaurant or anything, but the food is good and the decor is awesome. I've always wanted to eat in the rotunda, looking out on Michigan Avenue, and now I have!

The whole concept behind Grand Lux is it's a modern restaurant that evokes a feeling of classic elegance, so it's pretty baroque. I felt very steampunk sitting in a velvet chair under a decorative chandelier wearing my leather jacket and punked-out boot. Lt. Copper dines at his club!

Now I'm going to go drink a gallon of water and crash.
