Jun. 21st, 2009 01:08 pmIt is APPLIANCE DAY in Sam's Kitchen!
Given that it is still a jillion degrees out, I have busted out the bread machine and kept the crockpot on the counter, for the makings of delicious food without heating up the whole flat. I'll be making pitas in the bread machine this evening, I think, once it cools down a bit. And to go IN the pitas, I am making crockpot teriyaki chicken. I looked for recipes, but apparently the recipe for teriyaki chicken in the crockpot is universally "Place chicken in pot, add sauce, cook forever."
So I dumped two chicken breasts into a baking bag, covered them with Soy Vay teriyaki sauce, and then added some garlic and honey because the sauce smelled really salty. It is now Cooking Forever in the crockpot. And I smell like teriyaki!
