I called in sick. Where "sick" equals "needed sleep, haven't got any clothes to wear to work, and it's really really cold out". Best decision I made all year.

Well, no, best decision I made all year was buying an air-conditioner, but you know what I mean.

I also had a fit of brief cleaning and organised my socks and shirts. So if anyone has seen a grey calf sock or a green-and-charcoal striped number, please let me know, because they miss their mates. On the other hand, my pyjama shirts seem to have multiplied. I have four pairs of very fetching pyjama pants and at least three times that many shirts.

I stumbled over Awful Library Books this weekend, and it makes me happy in my soul. Not only are librarians discussing the delicate art of weeding their collections, but they're sharing the best and worst of the books they find in their quest. My personal favourite?

PRACTICE SOME AWESOME TODAY, EVERYONE!

I have to admit that Teacher Spanks Johnny makes me want to write an erotic novel in the guise of a discipline manual, but mostly because [livejournal.com profile] amand_r pointed out to me how everyone seems to like caning porn and nobody seems to write it.
Instead of sleeping I wrote a fic. Curse me!

A while ago I mentioned to some people that I was mulling over a "Jack through the ages" photomontage -- manipping Jack into famous iconic photographs. Gypsy, Foxy, Amandr, Nick, Claire, Spider, C, and Thad (sorry about the airplane thing, Thad! I ran out of oomph!) encouraged and exhorted me to make the manips and sent me ideas and photos. Once I had a nice collection of images, I decided to write short stories to go with them.

Voila!

Title: The Tin Box
Rating: PG-13 (all images are worksafe; some stories are not, but nothing overly porny)
Summary: Jack goes down in history. And he has the photos to prove it.
