Jan. 17th, 2010 10:16 amMy to-do list right now consists of equal parts:
-- Stuff I can't do till Tuesday/February/May
-- Stuff I'm not sure I can actually do, but am willing to have a bash at
-- Stuff I don't want to do right now
In the "Stuff I'm not sure I can do" department, Mum gave me her old sewing machine for Christmas. It's fifteen years older than I am, gorgeously preserved, and freshly tuned-up. Sewing my own clothing can't be that hard, right? I know how to use this machine and I did several classes in costume design, though admittedly they were heavy on the theory. I've been patching/repairing my own clothing by hand for years. The hardest part ought to be taking measurements. Fortunately, being my own tailor, I can always send it back for improper fit.
I suspect 90% of the stuff I don't want to do right now I can do on Tuesday, while watching Hoarders, because it's mostly cleaning and organising and nothing makes me want to clean like watching Hoarders.
I'm fetching a bunch of things from storage today, dropping off one box at the Brown Elephant and two in the trash. Coming home with me are a dozen masks I made back when I had a proper workspace; I'm planning to auction them for Haitian Relief, but I'm still trying to remember how I did the auctions last time. I'm sure I can improvise something. :D
I have received all your comments on CG and read them, but it's going to take me a little while to work through them, so I haven't replied yet. Probably will this evening; nothing says "three day weekend" like beer and copyediting on a Sunday night. :D
