Oh my god, I can't move today. *creaks around*

I woke up this morning almost incapable of getting out of bed, between hauling my ass (and several pounds of groceries) all over creation yesterday, plus the prodding the doctors did and the chiropractor's usual ministrations. Hot shower and anti-inflammatories helped, but I'm still gimping a bit as I go about my daily routine.

I'm working on my email backlog but my capacity for coherence today is deeply limited. Some days I just don't have the energy to work out how normal people respond to things and then execute that response. :D
Shoes should not be this frustrating.

All I want is a goddamn pair of Lands' End boots to replace the ones that I have now. I know they sell them, but it's some kind of seasonal thing, because god knows nobody needs to buy a pair of boots in the middle of winter. I just want a pair of 600-gram duck boots like the ones ON MY FEET.

And the truly annoying part of this extravaganza of shopping failure is that the pair that I already own is perfectly fine. They're not falling apart or letting in water. It's just that the lining is torn, so it pulls when I try to get my foot out of the shoe and my foot gets stuck every night when I try to take them off.

Maybe I should just cut the lining out. BossBoss recommends a shoehorn. I have no idea where I would procure such a thing, much less how to use it.

I know that some of my frustration stems from other sources. Next week I'm being temporarily reassigned because in the middle of this HR madness of course what we need is a COMPANY RETREAT, so I'll be offsite and probably out of email access from Wednesday of next week through to Wednesday of the week following (during the day, anyway). I'll be taking notes and attending seminars and workshops and watching BossBoss and Interim Supreme!Boss fight like I'm the kid in the middle of a messy divorce.

In more amusing news, I have added to the list of people whom I confuse with other people, to wit:

Jimmy and Warren Buffett (man, country music pays better than I thought)
Karl and Keith Urban (I didn't know he could act!)
Wes-es Craven and Anderson (Wow, he must have got on the really good antidepressants)

This is the way my brain works.

All I want to do is go home and sleep forever.
