I just opened my To Do list for the first time in about three days. Not because I was relaxing, but because for at least part of that time I was TOO BUSY TO OPEN IT.

Anyway, I no longer know what some of these things mean. "Upload Part One". Part one of what? Upload to whom? Or is it some kind of metaphor for starting something new? So I took it out. One less thing to do!

Today I get to zig-zag most of Chicago's near north; inbetween doctor's appointments I'm hoping to get my hair cut, buzz Trader Joe's, and have a late lunch somewhere nice. Then it's the chiropractor and home! To finally take "HAIRCUT" off my list.
En route to Doctor #1 this morning, I got snow up my nose. (Head tipped back to sip water, sudden wind...)

I am safely seated in D1's office now, having given a urine sample and been yelled at by the reception nurse for not signing something.

I only ever see this part of town at rush hour...it's eerily empty in the middle of the morning.
Two down, one to go! Apparently my internal organs are all where they ought to be and my hair is strong but silky!

My perfectly placed stomach was growling, so I finally got some lunch when I buzzed Trader Joes. Now I am sitting on the 7th Floor of the Marshall Fields building, having a cold Pomegranate soda after questing for new trainers (success) and new snow boots (failure). All that's left is the chiropractor and then I am done for the day!

And I mean DONE.
JESUS CHRIST, I take one day off work and someone crashes an airplane into a building a mile and a half from where my mother works.

I can't leave the universe alone for a second.

(Family is all fine. My thoughts are with those whose families are not.)

I am home and done. The doctors say I am not going to die anytime soon. I have two new pills to take, one of which will apparently prevent baldness and alzheimer's as a side effect, so that's nice. I have properly trimmed hair, a new pair of shoes, two pounds of organic onions, and a bottle of olive oil. I also have delicious, delicious Trader Joe's naan, which I plan to warm up and eat with hummus like the virtuous heart-healthy boy I am.

But not just yet, because this chair has me in its grip and will not let go.

I owe a million comments and emails, but I crossed like eighteen things off my To Do list today so I feel okay spending the rest of the evening half-conscious.
