Title: Exquisite
Fandom: White Collar
Rating: R for language, sexual content.
Summary: There's a place in Neal Caffrey's head where he doesn't have to lie to himself or be three steps ahead of the other guy, but so far only Peter has found it -- and Peter won't give him what he really wants. Elizabeth, meanwhile, is slowly adjusting to the idea of abetting felons...

Note: This is the end of "Season One" of Exquisite, which ends with season one of the show. There is a sequel in the works, which I'm working on as the show progresses through S2; hence the slightly anticlimactic ending to this season, which I wanted to get posted before it was jossed all to hell. Hope you've enjoyed my little retelling so far. :)

Chapter Seven
Good morning all, and happy White Collar day :D

Chapter Seven of Exquisite, the final chapter, has been posted; I realised I may not have made clear at the start that I was working up through the end of S1, and while there is a sort of ending it's not as strong as it would be were I not also working on "season two" of Exquisite as the episodes air.

If you'd like to see all chapters of Exquisite, it has its own tag on my journal. Enjoy!

The insanity is over! ....for now.
I keep sitting back and thinking, where did yesterday go?

Yesterday happened. I mean, the day actually took place and time passed, but I remember very little about it until about 6pm. I'm sure I did stuff. Nobody's mad at me at work today so I must have done stuff. Still, it's a trifle unnerving not to remember it.

I have a terrible memory in general, which is an excellent reason to keep a blog, a good way of recording events I won't recall in another few years, even if right now it's mostly meta and fanfic. What can I say, nothing much is going on. R asked me what I was up to and I said "I work, I sleep, and then there's the internet". Coworker Fail may have been annoying but I really can't deny he at least kept the place interesting.

The biggest thing that has happened to me today is that I downloaded an update for my phone and it wiped out all my customisations (wallpaper, icon location, icon presence on the desktop, etc). Could we maybe, as a digital culture, agree that out of sheer courtesy alone

1. We should be asked before popular tools like Gmail and GIS upgrade, to see if we actually want the upgrades, and

2. Upgrades that do occur should either warn us that we will lose the entire custom setup we had installed or, you know, not wipe that out in the first place?

I mean, all this shit is going to be around for a while, right? This is the way we live now. So, here's a wacky thought, let's get some standards in place for this kind of thing. Because I am tired, I am deeply tired, of being forced into upgrades I don't want and as a result not accepting upgrades I might want out of a justifiable paranoia that they will fuck everything up.

IANTO JONES IS DISPLEASED.
Oh man. After working The Thomas Crown Affair into Exquisite, I decided it had been too long since I saw it, so I rented it and put it on this evening. I forgot what a god damn gorgeous film it is. Not just the basic cinema work and costume design, which are lovely in their own right, but the layout and framing technique and the timing of it all...

And the moment when Vicki Anderson says to Thomas Crown, "You don't expect us to take the loss of over two million dollars lying down?" the look he gives her. He's so excited that he thought the game was over and it's only just starting.

I am not a huge fan of cinema, but The Thomas Crown Affair makes me happy in my heart. It's so deliberate and civilised and hot.

"What else are we gonna do on a Sunday?"
