Good morning, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!
Ways to Help:
Womanist Musings has had
a death in the family and could use your help. This is a little older as a post but I can't imagine they aren't still struggling.
Florida's "Save Our Shipwrecks" project needs your votes in the Pepsi Refresh Do Good for the Gulf initiative.
This will take you to the press release, which includes a link to the free once-a-day voting page. As Doola reminds me, while pelicans and sea turtles are undoubtedly important, so are the cultural artefacts of the Gulf Coast.
Educational Opportunities:
troubleinchina has started assembling
a guide to surviving college, and you know I'm all about those. The focus of this guide is a little more serious than Other People Can Smell You; it's about how to navigate and locate school resources, specifially for people with financial difficulties at the moment but also for people with disabilities and people of colour. It's in the early stages still, so you can both read to learn and offer help.
tzikeh is selling her 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary to make money for Grad School. The sale is really only for people in Chicago, who can arrange transport to pick it up, but it's a really good deal if you're local or know someone who is. More info at the link.
Warnings:
Christopher Gregorio, a young game developer, has had some nasty things to say about the way artists should be treated.
Read more here and find out what games are his, in order to avoid them.
CATS AND DOGS:
seize has an ITTY BITTY KITTY she's
looking to adopt out to someone in the DC area.
Illinois Search Dogs, a local search and rescue team, is up in a contest for a free site overhaul and could use your votes! It's free and easy, and
more info is here.
And finally, just something to LOL at:
The 30 Worst Baseball Cards Ever.
This has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. :)
