So, I'm too tired and sick to actually be angry at LJ over anything right now, but some things you should know:

One, I'm hearing that LJ has disallowed the use of / in tags. Check your tags! All your ship tags are belong to 404, apparently...

Two, it is now possible to crosspost comments you've made on LJ posts. I'm not sure what 'crossposting' means in this context, from what I've seen it seems to indicate you can crosspost to Facebook I guess? Anyway, here's the thing, you can crosspost comments you made to posts which are friendslocked, which poses a bit of a privacy risk for the person you're commenting to. You should let your readers know where you stand on this, and as readers you should be aware of when this may be an inappropriate action to take.

I do not have the details on these things; to me they are irrelevant because I don't use / in my tags and I don't friendslock anything, ever, so crossposting can't harm me (and I have no interest in crossposting my own comments). You can ask the cafe at large for help or info, but please don't expect I will help, because I can't. The wisest thing to do is check the news comm.

A few people on my flist have pointed out that this is an excellent opportunity to remind everyone about Dreamwidth, and the fact that most of us Dreamwidth users have more codes than we know what to do with. Therefore I would like to open comments to

CODEFEST IV: REVENGE OF THE SOCIAL NETWORK

If you'd like to offer Dreamwidth codes, or would like to have a code, leave a comment!

I'm going to go back to trying not to die at work.
I seem to be linking a lot lately; I think I'm standing it in for the usual content on this journal, because I'm still trying to cough up a lung and anyway the internet has such interesting things to offer!

Such as City Life, a childrens' book written by Jeannelle, a good friend of mine, and now available for pre-order. City Life is the result of Jeannelle and her wife Nicole's search for more inclusive childrens' lit; it's meant for toddlers and young children, chronicling a day’s adventures of a young child with two moms. I had the privilege of pre-reading this book and I think it's utterly charming, plus the art is lovely. :) You can preorder through Books For All Families and even get it signed by the author.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] neifile7 has written a lovely series of Torchwood/Who vignettes called Cat's Cradle that I think you all will enjoy. I know I did!

In other other news, my stomach no longer rebels at food. VICTORY IS MINE. (Yes, I'm still taking the antibiotics.)
It's Wednesday night! There has been pizza, and there has been White Collar. So it's time for

Sam's Three Things About White Collar, 2.08: Company Man )

3a. We have a saying in this fandom that White Collar has many awesome women, but they're not allowed to talk to each other. I think this episode is literally the first time two regular female characters have interacted. It was brief! But it was dazzling. (PS: I respectfully but fervently submit that Diahann Carroll has fantastic legs.)
