cblj_backupSo I realised I never mentioned this, but I got the grade-papers-online-from-home job. Well, I'm not sure "got" is quite the right word, they sent me an email saying "You have been APPROVED!" and then sent me an I-9 I had to get notarised and a W4 and all that other crap.
And yes, before anyone tells me how many people get swindled in work-from-home scams, I checked. It's a reputable education company whom you have probably, if you live in the US, heard of. I work for the people who work for the people who work for the GUMMINT, darnit!
Anyway, the job goes from Monday through the 14th of May. I don't know if I'll be working full-time yet, but it dun't matter cause I'm working FROM HOME, which means, you know. Grade a paper, write some fic. Grade a paper, write some fic...which is good, because I got a lotta fic to finish.
Off to grade papers. Remind me to tell you all about the paper I got from the kid who admired his uncle, No Thumb Tom the Slaughterhouse Manager.
It's priceless.

Why can't I have your life? I mean, you're not exactly thrilled with it, but...No Thumb Tom? I never get to read about no thumb toms.

heee-- here I sit, writing a page of IEP, a half-page of fic (I write slowly)etc. I should share some of my children's esays with you. One of my favourites, by a kid who had almost mastered cursive writing, was on the topic of "My favourite Dream." She was angry at me at the time; I've forgotten why."I dreaned that Nrs Steim was a giant. I nean a NOMSTER. And I chopped of her head. THE EMD."
