Oct. 9th, 2011 07:26 pmI just stopped and thought to myself, did I post today? Surely I must have.
And I did, but it was a privatelocked post -- usually I prep RFM on Sunday, then post it private so on Monday I know I can access a copy from work. So. HI THERE.
I managed to get a lot done today, but all of it was kind of nitpicky to-do list stuff. I made a leg of lamb in the crockpot -- jury's still out on the results -- and at the moment I have stuffing cooking in it, verdict already in that it's AWESOME and it's not even done yet.
Every year I do a photo yearbook of all the interesting stuff I did and saw, so that I'll remember doing and seeing it. It's tidier than boxes of photographs, and kind of fun to look through. Yesterday I organised and edited all the photos from this year and today I bent Shutterfly to my will to put them in; normally I'd wait until December or January, but I have a free photobook voucher that expires at the end of the month, so I'm doing it a bit early. It's always a process, but all I have to do now is add captions and order it, and then I'm done.
I also went over to R's for a few hours to do our usual Sunday Pancakes Extravaganza. He's getting quite good at pancakes, I have to say. He cooked while we watched a fantastic documentary called A Man Named Pearl. R confided that his favourite "character" is the head of the Chamber of Commerce, who is a man with a plan. A plan to beautify both blocks of downtown Bishopville, South Carolina. Not just one block, guys. Both blocks.
Anyway, that's mostly what I did today.
And I've been collecting links about Chicago all week and wanted to share some with you guys -- Chicagowans, take note!
Fridays from November 25 through December 16th, there will be evening caroling at the Bean.
A new events calendar I'm following by Pastoral has a lot of free "creamery demos" this month where you can find out about local cheese-makers.
November 4-6, SOFA (the International Expositions of Sculpture Objects & Functional Art) is coming to Navy Pier. Tickets are pretty reasonable -- $15 for a day pass or $25 for three days. I angled for a press pass, we'll see if it comes through. I mean it's not like I'm not totally going to blog it if I go.
