It's amazing how two days of doing nothing are improving my life. Even though technically I did a bunch of stuff yesterday and have more stuff to do today.

Starting with going to the store for some eggs, because I realised yesterday that nearly everything I wanted to cook (outside of granola and spaghetti) required the presence of eggs. Cookies, waffles, ice cream...apparently all my id-satisfying foods are at least partially egg-based. But I've finally found a cookie I can bake that doesn't end up a wreck of a ruined confection, because I'm not good with cookies apparently, so I do not begrudge it eggs.

The Dead Isle Chapter Three is up, as well.

And so is a new fanfic that's been sitting around on my hard drive for a month and which I finally got round to sending to my betas...

A Partial Dictionary Of The 21st Century By Captain Steve Rogers, US Army
Fandom: Avengers. Movieverse-ish. Very ish.
Rating: R (Steve/Tony)
Summary: Steve is adapting well to the new millennium, and he has the dictionary to prove it.
Title: A Partial Dictionary Of The 21st Century By Captain Steve Rogers, US Army

Summary: Steve is adapting well to the new millennium, and he has the dictionary to prove it.
Notes: Someone mentioned they could read "Steve explores the 21st Century" all day long, and I could write it all day long, so...

( Steve's uniform used to be leather -- good, hard-wearing, durable and tough to pierce, but still just leather." )

Fake cut takes you to the fic at Dreamwidth.
I am still reading books!

Much slower now, mind you.

I think I was linked -- I can't recall by who, if it was you tell me and I'll credit you -- to Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America by Jeff Ryan when I talked about wanting to play more video games, something I have not quite yet achieved (btw, Super Mario for the DS, I can't get past the very first world with Yoshi. Fucker won't run in a straight line, I hate these new 3-D worlds).

Suepr Mario, by Jeff Ryan )

Final Verdict: The first third of the book is awesome, as well as the last quarter. Be prepared for a slog inbetween. Still, that first third is totally worth it, and if you're really into console gaming you might get more out of the rest than I did. Plus you'll have fun picking out the names of games and characters that seem like old friends.
