I have all the books I can handle!
Like Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Strange Pilgrims, a book of short stories about, basically, foreigners. That's massive reduction, but the stories concern being a stranger in a new place, and the tribulations that can come with that. Marquez is known for writing magical realism -- he's probably most famous for writing 100 Years Of Solitude, which I thought I would take a swing at if I liked Strange Pilgrims -- but not all of the short stories fall into that category, as far as I can tell. Some are realism, and some are just surreal.
( Some I liked very much... )
Final Verdict: I think that the book is worth it for just a few of the stories, Tramontana and Ghosts of August, and perhaps Light Is Like Water. It's not that the rest aren't any good, but they're a nice bonus rather than something I'd pay for on their own.
