Good morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!

Ways To Give:

[livejournal.com profile] o_tempora linked to a Kickstarter for the Comet Theater in Cook, Minnesota, an indy cinema and community arts center that needs to buy digital projection equipment since film prints are being phased out.

[personal profile] iamshadow linked to [livejournal.com profile] tammypierce's shout out to raise awareness and funds for a university sex education week in Knoxville, TN. They've lost over half their funding due to Tennessee senator STacey Campfield's campaign against the idea ("You may remember him as the man who caused an uproar with his attempts at “anti-gay” measures in schools"). You can read more and find out how to give here.

Linda linked to the Socks Defense Fund, a fundraising post run by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller to help pay for veterinary bills for their cat Socks. The sharonleewriter blog also has updates nearly daily at this point on Socks' condition.

[livejournal.com profile] evilstorm linked to a petition at whitehouse.gov to make obtaining consent a mandatory part of sexual education in US public schools.

Rebecca linked to a Hater Free Wednesday post about Graham Cracker Comics, right here in Chicago, who are helping to sponsor a comics anthology created entirely by members of their Ladies' Night events. You can read more here or visit the indiegogo page here.

[personal profile] nuri linked to a kickstarter for a theatrical production of Wyrd Sisters here in Chicago. Support local theater! So that I can go see it! :D

Anon has a post up asking for help raising funds for some fairly necessary and urgent dental work. The post linked to here is an anonymized account, but they have contact information there for anyone who wants to help.

Housing:

[livejournal.com profile] fiwen1010's little brother is looking for two roommates in Hull, student preferred but non-student if they're willing to pay the council tax. You can read more about him and his frankly very good looking home here.

Melissa is looking for a roommate in Chicago, or advice on Chicago apartment hunting. She has a Craigslist post here, or you can drop advice here.

[personal profile] polarisnorth is looking for a new roommate in the Boston/Cambridge area! You can read more about their fantastic fannish apartment here or PM Polarisnorth on DW for more information.

Just For Fun:

Joanna linked me to an awesome story about a house across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church, which is being painted in a rainbow by the head of PlantingPeace.org.

[livejournal.com profile] taerowyn was the first -- of many, and thank you all -- to link me to the news about progress in the Gardner Museum heist case. Because the world loves giving me false hope...

And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can always post items for my attention in comments here (or on any post) or email me at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!).
NAILED IT.

I had my call with the Prestigious East Coast Not For Profit today. It was just a screening call with HR, but I'm pretty sure I pwned that interview. For one thing, I asked her a question to which her response was:

1) "I don't know."
2) "You should ask that in the next interview you have with us!"

So there's that.

Job-hunting is a horrible experience at the best of times, but I have to say, it's not nearly as unpleasant when you have a job and don't have to worry about your ENTIRE FUTURE depending on a phone call. I don't have to move to the east coast if I don't want to!

...I think I probably need to work out, fairly quickly, whether I want to.
