Incredibly Offensive Badly Written Rape Fantasy fanfic: O HAI THERE.

It's my own fault for not reading headers -- I was linked from a fanfic roundup, as usual, so the header wasn't visible immediately, and I don't normally read them anyway. For serious, though, that was messed up. I'm not against noncon or dubcon (don't read them, don't like them, but whatever feeds your pterodactyl) but I'll make an exception for that one.

Right now, Torchwood fandom on the whole seems to be thunderously silent as regards the fic, because we're pretty nonwanky most of the time -- Who fandom eats all the Torchwood wank alive.

But I couldn't resist posting here just so I can say, when and if wank breaks out, CALLED IT.

Actually if you read about sexual fantasy rape is pretty common because it allows the fantasizer all of the pleasure and non of the guilt of sex. It doesn't mean the person actually wants to be raped--but people often fantasize about stuff they would not actually find pleasurable except as an idea.

Oh, I know it's around as a fantasy and a lot of people have it, and I know it doesn't make someone a Bad Person, or anything. I understand the reasoning behind it, and that's fine. Each to their own. I just don't really get it, personally. Maybe because I know the other side of things, and it's not desirable in the slightest.

I'm not sure what it is about Torchwood, but it seems to attract some of the most dreadful fanfic writers out there. Thank goodness there are splendid ones like you to balance them out.

On a tangent, I was watching Sanctuary last night and thinking "I bet there are people out there writing Jack Harkness/Helen Magnus fic right now. And I bet most of it is bloody awful." I haven't dared go looking yet though.

Perhaps it's just that there's less of it, but I find it much, much easier to read fanfic in Torchwood than I ever did in HP. At least with Torchwood you can sort the bad from the good relatively quickly, instead of wading through piles and piles of fic for hours.

Never will I forget the Harry/Dudley food-fetish porn I came across in my early days. SCARRED FOR LIFE.

I think Jack Harkness is sort of a subclause of Rule 34. If a fandom exists, he is having sex with someone from it.
