Well, it's a beautiful sunny day here in Austin...not even a high wind. So much for the storm, I suppose, unless we're going to get it tomorrow -- which would be typical, as TOMORROW is when the rest of my family is driving off to Kerrville to visit friends of Bernard's. I shall laugh and laugh; I'm staying home.
We went out today and got the DVD recorder and while I haven't tried it out yet, the installation of it into our entertainment center went more or less smoothly. It has a nice userfriendly interface and it's very aesthetically pleasing. For those as took an interest, I went with the Magnavox from Best Buy. Whoever recc'd that, leave a note so I can thank you properly :)
Otherwise I am covered in bug bites, well-fed on pancakes from the 620 Cafe, and all-round cheerful. Aside from the DVD recorder I got DVDRWs (of course), a salt-and-pepper-shaker set for the bbq shaped like a hot dog and a hamburger, a LiveJournal knit cap, and a black silk shirt. All very useful things, so I'm quite satisfied with this year's swag :)
