cblj_backupLast night they showed an extended clip of figure-skating rehearsal time on primetime television while doing some mini-documentary on one of the skaters. The guy they were focusing on was in full costume, which confused me as I walked into the room, so I said "What the hell is that, figure skating cross?" pondering if, like snowboarding, they'd established a multi-competitor event.
"No," said Lucky. "But I'd pay good money to see that."
I would too, come to think of it. It would combine all the best wipeouts of speed skating with all the hoopla and camp of figure skating. The figure skaters could put ruffled skirts and sparkly trim on those spandex outfits that make the speed skaters look like sperm.
I'm ALL FOR IT.
