Dog went in to the Vet today to have his teefs cleaned. As he is an elderly, cranky bastard, they give him anaesthesia while they clean his teeth. Usually they clean out his ears and clip his nails too, which is kind of them.
His bloodwork's better than it was and his teeth are now sparkly clean, but they found a wee tumour in the roof of his mouth and removed it to biopsy (he has...tumour issues, so we're not really that concerned about cancer). They gave him a shot for the pain which left him monumentally stoned when we picked him up.
I took him outside to clear his head and, of course, go to the bathroom while mum was inside paying for it. He walked right up to a fencepost, lifted his leg, started to pee, forgot he was peeing, and walked onwards, still peeing, for about another ten feet.
Then he stopped and looked up at me, as if to say, aren't you glad I didn't do that in the car?
Yes, Dog. Yes I am.
He talked to me about the indignities of life all the way home, and he's sleeping it off now.
