I got 900 words in on Valet of Anize, I'm considering that a success for the night. :P But I'm not posting them yet because if I'm lucky tomorrow I get to write a kickass scene I actually want to write! Hooray!

I had some business to do at my bank (lord how grownup I sound) and then swung by Trader Joe's for some bread and Weber Grill for a nice celebratory dinner. And then I came home and collapsed from omg so much food.

I had the most bizarre encounter at Trader Joe's, where an enormously tall dredlocked woman on rollerblades saw me checking out, buying a single loaf of bread, and scoffed at me like I'd just farted on the playground or something.

"THAT'S all you're BUYING?" she said.

"Uh. I needed bread," I said, totally bewildered by the GIANT PERSON ON SKATES mocking me for my food choices. Then she sniffed at me and SKATED AWAY.

Clearly some people aren't secure in the concept of "ten items or less".

Yay, thank you! Seriously, more people should have that philosophy. I might scream the next time somebody asks me why I find gay guys hot. Or the next time I say I'm a fan of a gay man, and somebody condescendingly informs me that I "don't have a chance because he's gay", AS IF I WOULD HAVE A CHANCE EVEN IF THEY WEREN'T, RAWR.

One of the many reasons I love Adam Lambert and everything that's happening right now with him is that he's bringing homophobia and civil rights back into mainstream conversation. And he's not afraid of calling people ignorant, like that lady who complained about his posted link to Cassidy Haley's music video, because a vid with homosexual themes is OMG SO INAPPROPRIATE to under-16s. (I mean, I don't want little kids watching that either, but it's not Adam's job to raise people's kids, and in any case what would they be doing on Twitter?)

Oh, and the icon's by onlyeffy, who made a number of quote icons. I was torn between this one and the "Is it smoke... or glitter?" one, but I felt this one made more of a statement.

Oh my god, I've never been able to figure out a response to the "WHY R GAYS HOT LULZ" question that didn't involve screeching in rage and breaking something. Thank you so much for a delightfully snarky, yet totally accurate and thought-provoking answer. :D I am excited! I want to try this out now!
